Health Webinar: Vasectomy

This month’s health webinar will focus on vasectomy and sexual function. Due to the restrictions on abortion and possibly other reproductive rights, it is essential to know all of your options. Vasectomy is not currently a banned procedure, and it could be the difference between life and death for your family. Contrary to popular belief, abortion is not just used as a birth control tool for single mothers. The Brittanica definition of abortion reads: the expulsion of a fetus from the uterus before it has reached the stage of viability.

10-20% of known pregnancies end in a miscarriage. The actual number is likely higher since some miscarriages happen before pregnancy has been detected. Many families lose wanted pregnancies due to miscarriages. If this happens to you under the current restrictions, death could be a possibility. If the fetus dies in utero, it can create health problems with long-lasting effects. Some bodies cannot evacuate the fetus on its own, which is why abortion is necessary. An unviable fetus can cause sepsis in the body, which could be fatal. Often, the miscarried fetus is not the only child, which means the remaining children no longer have that person as a resource.

The current restrictions have caused some families lasting consequences, such as the inability to get pregnant in the future and sometimes death. A vasectomy is a simple procedure with minimal side effects. It is also the most effective form of birth control outside of abstinence. Only 1 in 2000 pregnancies happen after a vasectomy has taken place.

This health webinar will discuss vasectomy as a procedure, its risks, and what to expect after the procedure.
